Izzy comes from an equestrian family. Her Grandmother Jane Whiteley was second at Badminton, her great aunt Anneli Drummond Hay won both Badminton and Burghley.

She first worked for breeders Sam and Linda Barr followed by time in Holland to train with her aunt, Anneli Drummond Hay, where she had the opportunity to work for Swiss Olympic show jumper Markus Fuchs.

In 2003, she had a fall that resulted in a serious injury, but that only enhanced the determination to be better and succeed.
