About Izzy

Izzy comes from an equestrian family. Her Grandmother Jane Whiteley was second at Badminton, her great aunt Anneli Drummond Hay won both Badminton and Burghley.

She first worked for breeders Sam and Linda Barr followed by time in Holland to train with her aunt, Anneli Drummond Hay, where she had the opportunity to work for Swiss Olympic show jumper Markus Fuchs.

In 2003, she had a fall that resulted in a serious injury, but that only enhanced the determination to be better and succeed.

Then in 2004 Izzy was offered a rider position at the Opposition Stud where she was then based for two years, during that time she was second at Windsor International and went on to win team silver and individual bronze in the 2004 European Young Rider Championships.

In 2006, Izzy took a big decision to set up her own yard.

2012

Briarlands Matilda received the prize for the highest placed ‘Burghley first-timer’ while Matilda won the prize for the highest placed British-bred mare.

2013

Izzy made her first senior appearance for GB with Matilda, she was a member of the British squad for the European Championships in Malmo.

2014

2014 was a wet Badminton and she was the only rider to complete on two horses, Briarlands Matilda 17th & Thistledown Popski 18th.

2017

Perfect Stranger and Izzy won the CCI3* at Millstreet. Monkeying Around won the World six-year-old young horse championship and over the year won 7 CIC3* classes including Belton and at Bramham.

2018

Be Touchable was 2nd at Pau. Izzy cleaned up at Osberton in the ** with Liscarrow Conista 3rd, Artful Trinity 5th, Monkeying Around 8th, Conguistador II 1st and MBF Harley Rebel 1st in the *. Springpower was 2nd at Blenheim 8/9 YO ***. Blair International saw Director General and Direct Casino both 3rd in their *** sections. Jardy *** ERM saw Be Touchable in 3rd place with Perfect Stranger 5th in the ***. Direct Casino was 2nd in the *** at Arville. Be Touchable won the *** at Bramham. Call Me Maggie May was 1st in the *** at Tattersalls and 5th with Director General.

2019

PSH Gazelle was 1st in the **** and Hartacker also won the **. Burgham was also a success with Springpower 3rd in the **** and Hartacker 3rd in the ***. Fonbherna Lancer won the ****at Millstreet. Blenheim **** saw Artful Trinity to 4th place. PSH Lava Flow won the *** at Ballindenisk along with Fonbherna Lancer also winning the ****.

2020

Monkeying Around was 3rd at Burgham ***, with Hartacker following in 4th and Happy Days in 5th place. Monkeying Around won Burnham Market ****. Hartacker won Osberton ***.

2021

Monkeying Around won the **** at Burgham. Little Downham saw Ringwood Madras in the **** to 4th place with Fonbherna Lancer in 1st.

2022

Monkeying Around won Bramham ****, SBH Bigwall won Cornbury ***. SBH Big Wall finished the season with a 4th place at Le Lion.

2023

• 2023 was an exceptionally wet Season! Happy Days was 4th in the **** at Burnham Market. Mallow was a huge success with Caroline Airs KM 1st in the ****, Jason King 3rd in the *** closely followed by Barrington 57 being 5th. SBH Bigwall was 4th at Aston Le Walls ****. The season was completed with Barrington Alice winning the 6Yr Old 2*L at Le Lion D’angers.

2024

Barrington Alice won the I at Oasby, Barrington Boy won the N at Tweseldown, he then won the N at Lincolnshire, Barrington Alice won the 7yo class at Cirencester, SBH Big Wall won an OI at Tweseldown, Barrington Boy won a N section at Little Downham, SBH Big Wall was 4th in the 4*s at Bramham International, Bayaanaat and Silver Bullet both won an I section at Upton House, Bayaanaat won an I Section at Aston Le Walls, Barrington Alice was 2nd in the 7yo class and SBH Big Wall won his OI section their too! Hathaway Royale won the 3*s at Burgham International, Bayaanaat won the ROR section at Hartpury International, Happy Days was 7th in the 4*s at Carlow-Lisgarvan along with SBH Big Wall winning the same section and Hathaway Royale being 2nd in the 3*L, Barrington Boy won the 6yr old section at Cornbury House International, SBH Big Wall completed the season with a 2nd at Kronenburg 4*s.

2025

Underdog Z and Barrington Boy both won their sections at Poplar Park, Barrington Boy won an I section at Tweseldown, Barrington Boy won an I section at Barbury Castle, Retouchable was 3rd in 3*s at Thoresby, Barrington Boy was 2nd at Ballindenisk 2*L, Retouchable won a OI at Osberton, Undersog Z won an I section at Osberton, Barrington Boy won the 7YO section at Tweseldown, SBH Bigwall was 2nd at Belsay 4*S, Barrington Shadow won a OI section at Alnwickford, Barrington Boy won a 3*S at Alnwickford, Barrington Boy Won the 7 YO section at Upton, Swalcliffe Park saw 3 youngsters win their sections Jet aime Tango, Barrington Candy Kid and Oeps, SBH Big Wall was 2nd at Burgham 4*, Little Downham saw an encouranging outing for Ninian Park being 2nd in a N and One True Dassett being 3rd in a BE100. West Wilts was the next outing for the youngsters with Unreal Z coming 2nd and Oeps winning his BE100 class. We had a good day out at Kelsall Hill with SBH Big Wall comng 1st and Barrington Alice 3rd in the OI. This lead to Barrington Alice being placed 3rd at Boekelo 4*L. We then headed off to the final event of the season Kroenberg where we had a fantistic time with Bayaanaat Winning the 3*S.

2026

The season has started late for me, I broke my leg.

First Event of the season - Bradwall Manor in July with Barrington Alice (2nd!) and Barrington Boy
